You are exhausted from carrying everything on your own. Your mind never seems to slow down. You replay conversations, second-guess decisions, and worry about things that haven’t even happened yet. You spend so much time taking care of everyone else that you’re not sure when you stopped taking care of yourself.

Maybe you know exactly where some of your struggles come from, but understanding them hasn’t made them go away. You tell yourself to move on, let it go, stop overthinking, or stop being so hard on yourself, but somehow you end up right back in the same place. The past still feels close. Anxiety still shows up uninvited. And despite how much you’re doing, it never feels like enough.

I help people understand what’s keeping them stuck and create a path toward healing. Using EMDR therapy, we work together to process difficult experiences, reduce the emotional weight of the past, and quiet the constant mental noise that keeps you feeling overwhelmed. Rather than talking about what happened, EMDR helps your brain reprocess experiences that may still be affecting how you think, feel, and respond today. Along the way, we’ll build practical tools, healthier boundaries, and greater confidence in navigating life’s challenges.

Instead of feeling like you’re constantly surviving, you begin to feel like yourself again. The overthinking quiets. Boundaries become easier. Relationships feel healthier. The past no longer has the same grip on your present. You sleep better, trust yourself more, and have the space to focus on the life you want to build instead of the burdens you’ve been carrying.

Courtney Pfohlman is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania and a Clinical Professional Counselor in Nevada who provides virtual therapy for adults. She is a Clinical Supervisor for student therapists in Nevada. She specializes in trauma, anxiety, bipolar disorder, substance use concerns, and life transitions, incorporating EMDR therapy when appropriate.

Over the past 12 years, she has gained extensive experience working within community mental health agencies serving individuals with co-occurring disorders, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) programs, and Drug Court-mandated counseling. She has also worked in private practice, conducting clinical assessments and determining client appropriateness for EMDR therapy.

Outside of therapy, you’ll usually find me with a cup of coffee nearby and a book I’m probably staying up too late to finish. I love playing tennis, getting out on hiking trails, and spending time outdoors whenever I can.

When I’m not working, I’m usually spending time with my daughter, trying out a new recipe, and hosting board game nights.
